About Me
I write about science and how it affects people’s lives — in health and disease, in the environment, and in the lab. My work has appeared in STAT, WBUR, Undark Magazine, the Norwalk Hour, and other publications.
I now write about biomedical research for the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Previously, I wrote about science for KQED as a AAAS Mass Media Fellow. I hold a Ph.D. in materials science from Northwestern University, where I developed novel ways to study hard/soft interfaces in contexts ranging from sea urchins to brain cancer.
I'm currently based in Boston, Massachusetts.
